Warrior problem Pleease help!!!
#1
Hey everybody, I'm having some problems getting my warrior to start. I have tried everything to fix it, I have checked if the starter is okay, checked the battery, valve clearances, spark plug, timing, carburetor, evrything that I can think of and still it has problems starting. Maybe you guys can help me. The thing that is funny about it is that sometimes it will start up no problem but usually it doesn't, but when i try push starting it it starts up everytime, but it doesn't seem to want to start with the elctric start. When I push the start button the engine turns over and it has good compression and evrything!!
I'm really stumped on this problem, any help would be really appreciated!!
Thank you

Try cleaning out your starter button, especially if you ride in wet/muddy conditions. Also, charge the battery. My wifes 04' Warrior needed the battery charged after less than a month. Dealer states that you need to trickle charge your battery around once a month. Also, try changing your starter relay switch, $25 bucks at the dealer. If it makes a grinding kind of noise when it turns over it could also be your starter one-way. Let us know what it was.

check for spark, if you haven't. If there is none, check all your fuses. Wiggle the wires behind your left fender (opposite side of the pipe) Check all the connections leading to your battery to make sure none are loose or bare.

You stated that it starts and runs when you push start it. If it will not start when you use the starter button it could be an IGNITION box problem (CDI).....

its a very strange problem because when I put a jumper pack on the battery it starts up no problem when i press the starter button. But the thing is that my battery is not low or anything, i checked to see if the battery is low and it reads 14.5 which is good. But i find it wierd how when i put my jumper pack on it, it will start up easily. I will try and check some of the electrical connections, and i will get back to you guys.
Just wondering....if it is the CDI box how much will that cost me??

my warrior has spark but when I crank it over the spark seems kind of weak, it kinda seems like its not getting enough spark to ignite the fuel when i am fisrt trying to crank the engine over and start it up.

It sounds more like your BATTERY is bad even though you state 14.5 volts, it's the CCA (cold cranking amps) that gives the ignition that kick to send spark to your plug to get it to fire....
Have your battery LOAD TESTED...... that will tell you if your battery is good or not.....
