Wheel spacers-stud extension vs. stud replacement
#1
Looking into getting some wheel spacers for the Raptor. Going for about 3" total width gained. I like the looks of the ones you just add to your factory wheel studs, adding 1.5" on each side. Or there is the style that has a built in ring that replaced your studs (Dura-Blue and others).
Who has what and how have they helped/affected quad handling and have they held up? Thanks.

ive had the dura-blue ones on before
easy install slips on old lugs then you bolt wheel to new studs
as far as performance i found that with just the spacers in back it made quad push heavily in turns
i would do fronts and backs to avoid this or lower frnt this will widen it
either way its a good cheap way of widening your quad

The studs will bend alot easier if you use the extensions. You are MUCH safer going with a billet spacer that bolts to the studs and then has new studs that you bolt the wheel onto.
Here is a great example http://www.off-road.com/atv/reviews/...ts/sand-sport/
PM me if you want a set (rear). I got a wider axle so I don't need them anymore. They make it 4" wider total and are pretty indestructable. They work best if you have +2 a-arms, zero-preload shocks, or spacers on the front. With the stock axle and wheels, they make it about 48" wide in the rear. Good luck with your decision!!

The durablue has two different styles. ONe requires you to remove your studs, add longer ones and then install the rings. The other, has extensions that go on to your stud and the ring goes over that.
I have the ones where you add new studs and havn't had a problem with them yet. I do a few jumps, just little ones, and they are still holding up fine. I fliped it going about 60mph down a road and it bounced for about 200 feet....the wheel spacers survived without even a scratch.
