Raptor 660 vs 2 stroke 250cc dirt bike
#14
Someone should take a "built" Raptor up to Hangtown for the 1st MX National of the year & enter it in that race.....honestly, I think a fast kid on a YZ 85 would smoke ANY Raptor on any track. Dirtbikes have too much advantage on a racetrack plain & simple.

I'm suprised how many of you think a Raptor can keep up with a dirt bike in drag or MX. I have two CR250's one is older and stock, the other is built up for supercross with motor work suspension and gearing . The stock CR250 will walk a piped Raptor on a dirt road drag, on any kind of a track or gravel pit it will walk all over the raptor. My built 00 cr250 will flat out slaughter a raptor in everything but a mud bog.
I love Quads dont get me wrong but the bike is still on top on a track.

Thank you guys for finally telling it like it is. Not to me be mean but some of the above are really showing there ingnorancy that nothing can run with a raptor.

I have dragged many 250cc dirtbikes over the years with my Shee and can honestly say that if given equal traction, it takes at least 60hp for a Banshee to beat a 250cc two wheeler on pavement...On dirt or sand you need less power because of the traction advantage, a well built 686 Rappy will have its hands full vs a 250 on pavement but will in most cases win.Now if your Rappy is just piped, pray god that the dirt bike doesnt hook up or you are history, its that simple...

cool. I thought that someone might say that a 250 could handle a raptor. Here at home, the boys love raptors but don't have any. My kx slaughters everything around the neighbour hood but when it comes to theoritical stuff, the boys just love to think of what a raptor could only do to my bike had they had one. Thanks for all the info.

okey, when I said that the raptor should have the advantage on the track, I thought it would because I was told that in the dirt wheels magazine, there was a section that compared a yfz450 bike to a yfz450 atv. A friend told me that the quad did better on the mx track but not in the enduro. I guess that I shouldn't have believed him...
