i have also read that shootout and honestly think it is BS. I own a yfz but will admit that a modded yfz could not keep up with a stock yz450f on the track..

Before i had my engine work done, when i was on a stock motor with the CT pipe i could waste my friends on their kx250 and rm250 until they hit that last gear and then they stayed about 2 bike lengths ahead of me, although im 260lbs and they are only 150lbs. In a drag i would waste them, also i would waste them on the hill also.

my god, some people! Put it this way.

250cc dirtbike has approximately the same hp as a piped rappy (if not more) and weighs a good 180 lbs less..

I wonder what will win?!?

If you were wasting them in all those types of riding the guys on the bikes don't know how to ride, if this all took place before your motor work.
With the right tire on the back a bike can flat out fly up a hill leaving heavy quads in the dust. Just look at the weight to power like 87Banshee250sx said. It's a no brainer. Have you ever seen those bike hill climbs? guess not.

BlackRaptor, these guys are just making up b.s. If they had ever actually raced against anyone with some talent on a modern bike they wouldn't even be making these comments. They either just don't know any better, or are in denial. Give it up guys. You may think you have the fastest thing on the planet, but your making comments about things you obviously know nothing about.

all about the rider, as for a straight drag the raptor should get the jump but in the end the the 250 takes it hands down against a simple piped raptor. with a built raptor it would be a different story. For hill climbs it depens on how much momentum the 250 can get and type of ground, on loos stuff with not much run the raptor will take it on hard groung the bike wins everytime due to weight ratio, and if the 250 gets a long run to build good speed before the hill it will be faster too. where we ride there are hills that no bikes have made yet, and usually only piped banshees and built raptors can make( no paddles, cause who cant make a hill with paddles) to soft and no way to get momentum for the bikes.
