Default playing around with different jet settings today

Well today was my day off, so I decided to play around with different jet settings on my Raptor. Before today I was running DJ144,146s with K&N, 3rd clip pos., and lid removed. It was still running rich. So I put the lid back on and cut the flaps, and changed clip position, and made sure every clamp was set right. I put in a new spark plug, felt like It was running 10 times better. I pulled the plug tonight, and it had a tanish color. How do me putting the lid on, make it run leaner? I figure I got a better air-fuel mixture with the lid on, and it pulls alot harder now. I got to looking at the instructions that came with my DynoJet kit, and after messing around all day with it, I came out with the settings they had on the paper to a T. I guess they new what they were doing . Here in Arkansas we had some high flood waters the past month, so down on the sandbar it washed all the sand up, and made some nice dunes. Needless to say I prolly picked up skin cancer, cause I was out from 2pm to 6pm riding. Came home with a nice burn, and a bruised ankle. I am still trying to master jumping, and today some nerf bars would have came in handy. Well keep on riding.
