For the sucking th life out of your battery problem, just wire it into the low beam lights. On the 4x4's its the green wire coming from the headlight connector. that way it wont overheat or cause a lot of problems. just flick it to the low beams and it should work if you wired the winch to the battery and solenoid properly.
Just modify or bend the plate to make it fit into your warrior. I would use a drill and make holes in the plate and just U-Bolt it to the frame or use other bolts to make it work.
I have installed winches on bruins, grizzlies, kodiaks, Arctic Cats but never on a warrior! LOL

I don't think it's right, but so be it, if you get a sport quad that stuck that you need a winch you should have hit that hole with a 4x4 not a sport quad. For the extra cost on the winch and bracket you could have picked yourself up a sport 4x4 like a Scarmbler or Wolverine?

Why don't you just stay away from 4x4 territory? I have a Raptor, and there aren't many places in my area that I can go without getting into winching problems, but then again if I need a winch, so does a 4x4, it's just that bad up here. So I don't even waste my time using a sport quad to go mudding, I get pissed when it gets stuck cause I know I shouldn't have been riding there, that's not what the machine was made for, so I stay to the dryer trails and away from muskeg. There's no sportiness in trying to winch out or push out a sport quad outta 1 foot deep+ ruts, that's why they have such crappy ground clearance. So I just keep it to the the main trails and gravel pits, I don't explore on my Raptor, I only get caught when the trails turn for the worse when they were once good. Man, I got a 4x4 and barely need a winch, but it would come in handy, and I'd get it for my 4x4 cause I HAVE to go to these spots cause I hunt them, but I'd never take my Raptor there unless it was a really dry season and there was no nasty holes. But I guess warn sees a market in them, so why don't you check them out, or can you afford one of their brackets too?

You would still have your lowbeams. Just solder it into the lowbeam wire. (before the connector to the lights)
I also reccomend a warn 2.0 cause i couldnt see a warrior needing a 2.5ci or bigger. It would save money. the warn 2.5's have a great little switch though. Seeing how the warrior would be small in the front (i think dont quote me on this) maybe look at a winch mount for a kodiak 400. they dont make em yet for the bruin 350. although it can be done its a pain in the a$$ to mount a kodiak plate to a bruin.
Usually when you buy a winch it comes with directions for installation. Now being a warior they probably wouldnt have the instructions out. Best luck is buy a winch made for yamaha. If you got anymore questions ask. I would like to see a pic when you are done. as for the wiring, thats the easy part. you building a mounting plate may be another story. Oh yeah, the warn winches for yamaha come with mounting plates. You may be able to modify one.

Hey sparkz.
Were you the guy riding his polaris snowmobiles in the snye last summer?
I dont live there but I was there for 2 months last summer. I saw 2 guys doing it. thats plain crazy. the snye's full of sewage.

Haha, that's crap, I'd never do it there, but I was riding the open spots in winter. I was riding around the biggest section where some dude broke through in Waterways with his truck too. I'd try it in summer, but there's nowhere good to do it here, like you said, the Snye is quite the slough, I ride it in winter that's all... I was riding the open sections once and some Bylaw guy and others were waving me over, but I stayed away cause I don't carry my plate on my sled, dunno if you were one of them? I was riding an Orange Polaris Pro XR last winter. But I also had my Raptor out lowered there too a couple times? Why were you up, where you live?

Actually Warn has kits running the 1500lb winches, that's all you'd need on those quads. I don't think you'd gain much running a 2000lb+ winch due to the fact you wouldn't have the electrical to run it anyhow, not unless you get your stator rewound for high output like what most full size utility quad come with stock.

Does anyone have a pict of a winch on a Warrior? The places I ride are always so muddy, and well I think its a great piece of mind besides the fact. It took me and my buddy an 1hr to pull out my quad one day, and it wasn't fun. I don't however want the winch to look terrible on the front, guess thats why I just want to see what it would look like...
