Default Warrior troubles...(break switch bypass?)

Hello...

I ran into some trouble the other day with my 01 Warrior, and I saw a post from about a year ago with the same problem. The poster mentioned that they bypassed some kind of break switch and I was wondering if anyone knew how to do that? My problem is that once started and running, as soon as I hit the gas, the engine wants to die out. The only different thing I did was try to use the parking break and perhaps it 'broke' something.

Any help is appreciated.

If you dont wanty to mess with it all just push forward real hard on the parking break. Perhaps hold it forward with some wire.

I hate to ask, but how do you remove and block off?

Also, I am not familiar at all on how that brake works, and why it is on the clutch instead of the right hand brake lever? When you say push forward real hard on the parking brake, do you mean the clutch or the hand brake?

Thanks,
-hp

There is a switch in in the bracket that actuates when the parking brake is applied. This switch cuts spark to the engine and that is why your
bike is cutting out above idle. Most likely either your parking brake is still on or the switch is stuck. Take a look at the parking brake assembly, you will see the little switch- juggle it and make sure it is not engaged.

Thanks everyone!

It worked. Just saved me a few hours of taking apart the carb, etc.....

That just happened to mine!! Should I replace that switch or what?? I'd like to adjust that brake so it works, never did from the dealer!

Just an idea for you (cheaper than trying to fix it)

I just got back from Hatfield McCoy riding with 9 other guys, and they all said to 'never use it...' When we load the quads on the trailers, we used small bungie cords that you can buy at Kmart/Wal mart, etc. just wrap around your front brake lever real tight a few times and thats it!

Problem solved...

I just installed a parking brake block off and installed a pro motion clutch lever. There are 2 relays that you have to deal with - 1 has to be left extended and the other needs to be pushed in .
