Just replaced a stator on my buddies warrior with the simuliar problem. We checked everything and then decided to check it agains another warrior and found that the ohms did not match up. So we thru on a used stator and it started right up and havent had any problems since. This was on a 2001 warrior he just did last week.

Could be your coil .. 1990-2002 primary resistance 0.36 - 0.48 secondary resistance 5.44 - 7.36 K (ohms)

but heres the specs to check your stator as well

1990- charging coil (white to white) 0.70 - 0.86
1990- pickup coil (yellow to blue) 171 - 209
1990- source coil (white/green to red) 270 - 330 (ohms)

Hope this helps ya.

No problem... I just replaced a stator last november, would fire right up and run for about 10 mins then just quit, the source coil would fail when it got hot. If you end up needing a new stator I got mine from rickystator , half the price of a yamaha oem part and a warranty to boot.

My step brother's warrior does this too. We haven't taken time to figure out why. (Probably battery connection) But when he stands up and jumps on the seat while holding the starter button it turns over and fires right off.

My wife says I need a new spark too... anyone know if a new stator, Starter, or coil will help my problem? I always though it was a loose connection.. but you never know.... I never tired jumping up and down on the seat while trying to get my motor running though..sounds kind of kinky.....

We just got a new cdi box off of ebay. Hopefully it will come this week and we will see if this works. If not this problem that everyone is having is ridiculous. what else could it possibly be?

I'm hoping someone else recalls the loose wire deal from a while back.... The thread indicated it was pretty common and had the same characteristics...
