We're not the welder...take it to him and ask him. He probably could if he's good at it.

I don't see why not. Find a good welder than is confident they can fix it. Clean it up as much as possible. Maybe polish it out while your at it! Heh heh! Like I said I'm going to get my original one fixed sometime soon as a spare.

My oil tank is with the welder atm.. i pick it up tomorrow. Same problem as yours. I'll let ya know how it looks and what the out come is when I oil it up. I would have gone with the larger oil tank. but what the heck , why not gamble $20 bucks for a weld vs 140+ for a larger aftermarket one.

But if it doesn't hold up or cracks again, im definately going with the aftermarket one! I'll post about it sometime tomorrow or PM ya

1st of all its an aluminum tank so you need to find someone with a tig welder. They will just weld up the crack and I can't see them charging you more than $10.

Draggin,

Sorry dude. that thing is cast. I weld tig and let me tell you, its possible but its a pain in the butt! Expect more than $10 on that bill unless you know the welder personally.

I would try to get it welded. If not don't buy a um, I got one and already had to have it welded. It's only six months old. Check out k&k, their tank is much better quality than um.

Firefly,

I tried to look up the k&k tanks but couldnt find their web site. Do you know where I could find some info on that tank?
