Recently I bought a 2001 Raptor 660. I was told that the transmission has a weak gear but I was told by different people that it was 2nd and another that it was 6th gear. So is this true? Which gear is weak?

 

i thought the raptor was a 5 speed

 

That pretty much answers the question.

 

Ok well I just got the bike and I really haven't had the chance to ride it because I'm doing some build up and repainting but has anyone heard about the weak gear in the tranny. Even the guys at the yamaha dealership said it was true.

 

2nd gear, Very true.

Dont let it spoil your ride though. Ride it until it breaks, you may get lucky and its already switched over to the newer gears.

 

not ever raptor has the bad gear too. And i think its a recall or atleasat it should be.

 

Only 2001 and its NOT a recall, but ya it should be.
