Default New set of 21x12x8 Ultralite Haulers!

I just got a brand new set of Skat Trak 21x12x8 9 paddle Ultralite Haulers today. I love the big brown truck! I called all over and finally found one place that still had a set of the original Nankang casing ones, before they switched to the new heavier ChengShin ones.

These things are sweet! I can't wait until I get my quad back together and try them out at the strip. I am goint to try to weigh them and compare them with my 22x11x8 Extremes.

Here is a quick question. The place I got them from told me they put in a little bit of tire sealant because ~50% of the ultralites have some micro leaks in the sidewalls from being cut down so much. Does this sound right? Regardless, I can already tell they are lighter than the 22's

Thanks,

RR1

I just bought a set of 21x12x8 haluers they were not ultralites but they do have the nankang casing. Is the difference between mine and yours just that they shave more rubber off? mine feel very thin as it is.

RR1, I have the exact same tires as you, one leak's air and one doesn't. It takes about 2 weeks for the one that leaks to go from 5psi to 0. It's not bad enough to worry about. I wouldn't bother trying to use sealer on them because mine turn a little on the rims anyways.

LOWBOWTIE, just a tip. To keep your tires from spinning on the rims put abot 25 sheet metal screws through the bead. No J/K. Break the tire down and rub the sealling surface of the tire and rim with anti freeze and then air them back up. It might not work, but its free to do and adds no weight.

I have the same problem of mine spinning on the rim. I will get them lined up but after a few rides I notice they don't line up. Is there anything other than bead lock rims that will work or help?

I believe on the ultralites the buffing/grinding goes all the way around to the bead area. On my regular haulers, the buffing stops at the sidewall. Any you are right, the regular haulers are really light too.
