hey i got a question i got a 98 yamaha blaster and it was running good and all of a sudden it statred to slow down and it did that till it just stoped and died so i couldnt get it to start up i changed the spark plug and still didnt start up so i let it cool down for like five minutes and still didnt start up so then i had to push it to my house which was a pain and the gas tank was half way full . so maybe you could help me out and tell me what to do with it so it starts up ok thanks

 

Try to clean the carb and maybe clean the air filter it still should start up with those dirty. But hell give it a try

 

did the wheels lock up? if that then u blew ur top end, do a compression test to see if u needed a rebuild anyway, clean ur carb and air filter change, rejet, change the spark and it should start right up

 

Look at the bright side........at least the gas tank wasnt half empty[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Have you checked for spark yet? Id start there. if you have spark,Then check for gas in the float bowl...open the drain on the bottom of the float bowl and see if gas comes out. If you have spark, and have gas to the float bowl..then its got to be compression.

 

check the reeds same thing happened to my old blaster.
