Raptor 350 Vs Warrior
Well i would suggest the Raptor its the same exact motor as the warrior just minor tweaks and adjustments i like the warrior before but i saw the raptor and was amazed think of the raptor as a updated version of the warrior.
It will suit you fine for a beginner.
Warrior
Advantages- Tons of parts,good reputation
Disadvantages-Very old model,Expect electrical probs often.
Raptor
Advantages-New looks and many updates from the warrior
Disadvantages-Costs a wee bit more than the warrior,Not many parts (yet)

The new 350 is a little bit more "modern" version of the old 2-valve 350 motor. The first time I saw one in the dealers I took the seat off and took a look at the airbox. That has been improved in that the lid is now something that can be removed without any screws...just flip a few latches and you're set. Then came the disappointment....they still haven't fixed the airbox/filter design. The filter is still held on by the airbox lid, so whichever one you get (if you get one) spend the hundred bucks and buy the Pro Design filter kit to give yourself a good "positive" seal from your airbox to your carb. The lighter exhaust and bigger carb should be a big bonus, and it appeared as if they improved the chain adjustment system too. Not that the other one was too difficult to do...it just took way too much effort compared to adjusting the chain on a non-yamaha bike. I'd say go for it if you want to get one. It will provide you with years of trouble free use. My first quad was a warrior, and I had it for 6 years with no problems.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm surprised no one tried to get me to go with the 660 because "I will regret it when I get used to it and want to go faster". My go fast toy is my sportbike.. I'll tell ya, It looks like it is easier to maintain than my bike To get at the Air cleaner, I gotta pull my gas tank off, which sucks. I went looking, and a dealer offered me $5600 OTD. Whatcha think?

Raptor 350 Vs Warrior
I've never rode a suzuki z400 but are those things junk? Not being a jerk or anything im just wondering. When i was looking for my Banshee there was 2001, 2002, 2003 in excellent shape in the Cycle Trader for $2800-$3700 all day long. One had one for sale was 2002 bone stock in perfect shape for $3400obo, which means he wants about 3000 for it. Either these things arent what they are made out to be or people like screwing themselves when they sale them.

I don't why Yamaha is obscessed with the Raptor look now, but I like the original Warrior better. The looks are unique (not outdated either), and the name Warrior is better (say what you want). But no, they had to make a couple of small changes and change the styling so they can make a couple more $$$ and sell these things for a little higher price to people without actually improving it any. Do they really need another Raptor?? I mean they already had the normal Raptor 660 and the 90. If I were you, I'd just get an older one for a much lower price (when new things come out, older models' prices drop drastically, saw it with the Blaster); get a 2003 or something. If you want a Raptor, get a Raptor, the Raptor 660.
