maybe he had his 400 bored. this one kid has a 490ex, that thing will kill a stock yfz anyday, with out a doubt. it has everything replaced, and its piped. maybe all u see is the pipe, and he really has a big bore done. and if he doesnt, hes a liar.

 

300 ft and no i havent times myself i mean im pretty good i had my blaster and i tried to drag my friends 400ex beat him in the holeshot but not after like 2nd 3rd gear he passed me so im not a beginner except with the 450 that has more *** than the blaster off the start, not to mention razrs like to spin

 

I think you should do good.
Have you played with 2nd gear starts at all to see if that improves your holeshot?

 

I agree try launching in 2nd gear a few times and see how that works. My girlfriends raptor always spins the wheels in first gear so I tried launching it in 2nd and I still get beat out of the hole because it bogs down, but I am only behind by a few feet and as soon as it gets moving it's amazing how quick it catches up since it's already in a higher gear so no shifting is required.

 

YEAH IT DOES MATTER ABOUT THE RIDER............HE COULD BEAT YOU IF HE WEIGHED 125LBS AND YOU WEIGHED 375LBS. IT DOESNT MATTER ABOUT THE RIDER, HOW FRIGIN HARD IS IT TO HIT THE GAS KEEP IT STRAIGHT AND SHIFT, THE YFZ WILL KILL THE 400EX, HE WAS PROLLY TRYING TO INTIMIDATE YOU EITHER THAT OR HIS HEAD IS BEARLY BIG ENOUGH TO FIT ON THE TRACK ITSELF.

 

I do all my racing starting in 2nd gear. Course, w/ my setup, it's like starting in first anyways. If it's slightly bumpy terrain, the front end will still come between 3rd and 4th.
I don't like starting the drag in first, because sometimes it likes to goto neutral instead of 2nd gear....

I've never raced a 400ex before... They seem kinda quick... saw a guy roll his and dislocate his shoulder... after owning it for a couple hrs. I really don't think they could stand up to the yfz's acceleration though... JMHO...
