This was not a joke. If you end up reading the whole thread you will find that out. Hats off to everyone involved for finally giving the offroad community a good name.

just read it all. great post for all to read. things like this make ya feel good about what fellow riders can and do do all the time. quick thinking and trust in the post made her safe, and the word hero does fit here. not some baseball player couse he can hit a home run, but every day people that make a differance! they are the real hero's!

Here's another one.
My friends and I were riding Jawbone Canyon this last Feb, Presidents day I think, and we were returning on a remote trail at least 15 miles out of the nearest camp...We we just taking out time, cause we had kids on bikes and quads, and there was about 12 of us....when we happened along an accident scene where some poor guy on a bike was laying on the ground with his five friends surrounding him trying to figure out what his problem was...... Most of us work for a large utility and take first aid etc.... in safety training classes.....so, the guys eyes were dialated to different diameters (really not good), and he was obviously going into shock.......(really really not good), so I pulled out an ice cold bottle of water out of my cooler on the front rack and had him drink some......., pulled out the cell phone out of my fender bag, a emergency foil like blanket out of somebody's fanny pack...... and with another guys GPS coordinates I dialed 911 and got the local Sherriffs to respond......30 minutes later he was on a helicopter ride to Lancaster to the nearest Emergency room.......never did find out how bad he was.....but he definately got looped.....
So the cooler full of drinks (with the obligatory 1 bottle of water, you know in case the bikes needed it.....) A cell phone and a GPS, and some minor first aid experience and supplies..........can go a really long way in an emergency.....We always carry stuff like that..........and flat fixin stuff tooo......
Good job in Nevada.....
