Stators.......please help me here guys..

K, I believe my Warrior needs a new stator...there is no spark..do you think if I drift start it...it will keep running if it is my stator? Is the stator only used in starting the quad? Or does it run all the time and drift starting it wouldn't do anything? Please help guys I want to ride so badly but this thing is whats keeping me from doing it.

Just had the same problem with my buddies. We could pull start it and it would run but then it wouldnt start. Ohm checked the stator and it was not up to its specs. Replaced it with a new one and it starts everytime. The stator I believe helps charge your battery with the magneto.

Because pushing it would be the same as pulling it.....wouldn't it?
Not to be rude or anything...this forums is the god of all atv forums...but I need just a straight up answer so I could maybe go riding tomorrow.

To be honest, I wouldnt ride it until you fix the problem. I dont think its a good idea just in case it dies on you and your out of luck in the middle of no where.

That is true and a very good suggestion...but I want to ride so badly right now nothing's gonna hold me back......but that's why I always ride with friends...
I haven't ridden in almost a month....I cannot go much longer..

The part that was actually bad was the pickup coil in the stator assembly and we just got a whole stator cuz we didnt feel like dissembling the whole thing so we just swapped it out. If you want, call Ricky Stator and he sells individual parts and whole complete stators at about half the price from Yamaha.

The stator supplies all the power to the bike. Not only does it charge the battery, it runs the lights and ignition. With a bummed stator, your bike won't work. Try cleaning up the pickup and your electrical conn. Then change out your spark plug and check for spark. If you got spark..your good.
