Default possible without stator

is it possible to ride normal if the stator is messed up from a broken woodrov key? i think all the stator does is generate electric for the light and if i take out the light for the race plastics i dont need to spend money to fix it. am i right or do you need the stator to ride.

Your stator powers you bike...everything electrical on your bike.....if It starts...then it should run fine...if it doesn't start..you need a new stator.

That's probably it...the stator won't make a grinding noise if its bad...check for spark before you do anything.

i definately think its something to do with the key because the flywheel nut was almost off when i took off the cover. and if it is broke the piece that is floating around in there is what is causing the grinding. nice icon i see u just changed it.

i just looked at HDP's site and it looks like they know what they are doing. when you buy their 240 kit you need a bigger carb rite?

Last time I ran across a broken key the fly wheel nut came off by hand as did the fly wheel. While you are in there look things over and make sure the stator doesn't show any obvious signs of damage.

Yes you can run a stock carb with a big bore, but it will limit your top end power. If a new larger carb is outta the budget, the 34mm pj's are plentiful and affordable, check ebay (search 250r carb, 34mm keihin, 34mm pj).
