How are you using your choke? Are you turning it off too soon maybe? My brother in laws Grizz is like that. His dealer just told him they are finicky for starting in cold weather. Thing is we have taken his on camping trips at -20 and it fired right up the whole trip.
I have seen him struggle to keep it going at 40 degrees though. He has gotten used to it and he just just lets it warm up wih the choke left on for a few minutes.

Could it be the idle speed is too low? Sounds like its lean, because itll idle when warm. The mixture screw needs to be adjusted , and posibly you need a bigger pilot jet. Have you done any mods to the motor? Air box lid, is it on and tight? Exhaust system mods?

The problem most likely is that you tried to adjust the carb. You may want to have it adjusted by a professional, as it would not be that expensive. Plus if the carb is clogged or has water in the fuel bowl then they will fix it. Could be a problem with the enricher. In any event, this step would eliminate the carb as a problem.
Also you may be using too much fuel cleaner in your quest to clean out the carb. If you read the directions on the prouduct it will guide you as to how much fuel a can will treat. On some fuel system cleaners if too much prouduct is used it can cause a problem bigger than the one you have.
