250lbs sell the Raptor

If you weigh over 250 lbs. Don't buy a Raptor, and If you own one sell it quick. you will have nothing but hell with that chunk of garbage. The Bombardier DS 650 is a much better choice for larger riders they cost a little more but well worth it.

Well, I could not keep it out of the Yammha shop, two clutch replacments, rear axcel bearing replacment and when one of the front shocks broke all within 26 weeks of owning it the dealer showed me in the owners book that it has a payloud of 250lbs. They will make no more repairs on warrenty cost. And when I said why did'nt ya,all tell me that when I bought it, they said your sellsman must have thought you where buying it for someone else..this was in 2001.

If you broke a front shock you must not know how to jump all too well,Clutches can be from rider not knowing how to SHIFT (no probs with mine) and rear axel bearing nothing wrong. Only problem is I ride to fast and wear out brake pads.

I may be a lump, but abought 5lbs. less than you,and I have had ATVs for abought 14 years and have never had any real proplems. And the Yamaha Dealer is the one that sugested I should sell it. A nother dealer that sell yamaha and Bombardier sold me a DS650, If you really look at the craftmanship of a DS copaired to the Raptor you will agree.

The ds is better suited to large riders because it is a larger machine. One that does not fare well in the tight trails of the midwest. My father weights 270 and loves to ride my raptor. Never had any problems with it that we didnt cause ourself. And even then it was only because someone screwed up a cam install. You may have had a bad experience, and for that I am sorry. But the general consensus in the atv world is that the raptor is an excellent machine for larger and taller riders. I have seen a gentleman who said he was pushing 400 riding a trx250r. If you want to hear about suspension problems, talk to him.
