Hey guys, I don't take this stuff personally All I am doing is trying to pass on my knowledge so that maybe, you will take a second look at what your doing and that the outcome, might not always be a pleasant one. Yes, we were all kids at one time. I can tell you from my 23 plus years of being around law enforcement, that what you do as a minor could have ramifications 5,10 even 20 years down the road. I have seen it all.
I will add this, if you are caught doing whatever it is you are doing, show respect and chances are, you might get off a little easier. I can't speak for all law enforcement, but as a general rule, that's how it happens.
Now, if you wonder why the local officers are hard on you guys, ask them. Maybe they will tell you, it's part of their job, or that they are getting numerous complaints or a quad was involved in a accident, who knows what the answer might be. But, educate yourself, you might just be suprise at the answer you get.

Soon2b, Sorry haven't heard of it. Enjoy your first job and enjoy the fireworks show I have been a Deputy Sheriff-Coroner for 18 years. I was a Public Safety Diver/Swiftwater rescue tech for 8 years. I am certified as a rescuediver by PADI.
As far as how far on the shoulder you can be? That depends on your state laws. Here in Ca. the shoulder is part of the roadway and you cannot legally ride on it. Now you can cross the roadway at a 90 degree angle, but that is it.

Roscoe, Sounds like I need to add that to my "want to dive places"- 25lb lobsters, sounds good to me. Ride Safe, Lt. Dan

speaking of bottle rockets...
back in the day me and 2 buddies lit a few off... when one went into the air it made a sharpe turn strait towards my buddies house and went throught a window screen!!! it ended up getting stuck and when it exploded it put a small crack in the window... boy wasnt his mom pissed at us... still dont understand how the window cracked though... but we got yelled at and she still holds it on us to this day.

Hozed, I am laughing, because that is a classic examble of what can happen, accidents that we can't take back after the bottle rocket leaves the ground.
