Anyone have the bigwheel kit from ITP and how much weight do they add? Do they noticably decrease speed? How good are they in the mud/sand/hardpack?

Noone has the bigwheel kit? Hmm..I'm suprised. Well then tell me this: I'm lookin for some good all around tires for my wolverine, geared more towards mud (ie. Blackwaters). Only problem is size. What size should I get and who offers it? My stock tires are 23x8-12 & 23x10-12. Also, I don't want to slow down much so no huge/heavy tires. Thanx for any advice.

If you dont want to slow down then dont go any taller....Stick to the 23" and maybe a little wider? You can go taller and bigger but it's ALL going to be at the cost of your low end. However I have heard larger tires on this bike give you more top end. I heard that with a 25" tire I beleive? You can achieve about 60mph. On a LONG straight though. Take into consideration your low end grunt is going to be greatly decreased. I hope you find what you want! My brother is going to go with a high comrpession piston, pipe, filter, jetting, cams, and lighter rims so it doesnt FEEL like he lost much power. He hasnt decided on tires but still doesnt want anything too big. Hope this helped some.

Unfortunately you won't find many choices out there for 23" tires. You will probably have to go with a 25" tire to get the mudding ability you are looking for. A pro-flow intake with K&N or Uni airfilter, rejetting the carb, and an aftermarket pipe seem to be the ticket to compensate for the larger tires.

Are you the guy that bought the used wolverine for $4600? How do you like it?

Yea, I ended up getting the quad for $4410. I also bought an extended warranty, helmet, and gloves. The total out the door was $5400. It's really clean and it's got an FMF pipe and K/N filter. Not sure if it's been rejetted but I assume it has. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet, only ridden it around the shop and parking lot. I'm going riding this Sunday, should be a blast. I was looking at the 25x8-12 and 25x10-12 blackwaters but I'm afraid it might slow down too much. What's the lightest mud tire out?

Running 27x12 in the back and 27x10 in the fronr bogs a little, but not as bad as everyone says. People are always telling me that it won't turn the big tires in the nud, I hate having to prove everyone wrong all the time.

low end but not as much as everybody says. i have
maxxis sure tracs and they bite pretty good, i weigh 210lb, and i cruise through the woods over
logs everybody highcenters on and up hills, though
i have to gear down but i get to the top, i can
run about 55 mph maybe faster but have never run
up against someone with a good speedo...

sumthin4nuthin,
glad to se ya back on here. I was fixing to start replying to the wolvering post's representing my experiences with your machine. Anyway folks the wolverine is no slotch with big tires like he is runn'n here. Its like the power to weight ratio is almost perfect for the mud. I have seen sometimes when his machine would bog down but its was in some muck that would bog any quad. It will suprise ya I promise.

TAZ

ps.don't ever come down again and not stop by.
later dude.............
