A degree key from Vito's for $20, will advance your ignition. You can get the same results by slotting your stator plate. Either way if you don't already have one you will have to buy a fly wheel puller for around $15. So now the degree key will cost you $35, while slotting the stator will cost you the $15 for the flywheel puller.

FYI: A degree key can shear off, it's been known to happen.

how do you slot a flywheel. my degree key snapped it half and it screwed up my timing so i had a 6 speed reverse blaster. but my flywheel nut came off so the flywheel moved and thats y it happened. i would like to know how to slot a flywheel though so i dont have to buy another degree key.

degree keys are bad for blasters. ive heard it from mechanics who work on them all the time, i guess it leans out your engine so much, and there is now way to get it for a degree key.... blasters are nice quds.... the only real problem with em is the air cooled part. get 18" tires and run a 15 tooth sprocket from vitos, once you get it piped and new reeds and all that stuff..... it can easily pull with the 15 tooth, trust me, i had one that could keep up with the 250r's and EX's, but now with the introduction of the 450's i dont know if it would stand a chance no matter what u did to it

pipe that dude as soon as you can afford it. it really plugs the engine up! you can mess with the air box to admit more air. but if the gases cant get out [pipe] you just wasted some bucks. gearing is a good idea if it doesnt fit where you ride. tires made a nice diff in handling, but i'd still save up for a pipe first.-- pipe kit that is.. jets and all.
