Hey man were in the same boat right now. I put 180/185 mains in mine today and it loves it. It's still lean when I swat the throttle.
I hope someone steps in and tells us why are quads are wanting so much fuel with so fue mods.

I ordered a GTYR jet kit for the needles. I'm hopeing it helps with the popping between shifts.

If you figure out anything before me let me know.

Someone from another forum told me my stock needles are to blame. I took it out today and was still poping lean with 180/185 jets. I ordered a jet kit and will let you know how it turns out.

check jetting like everyone else has said.....but also keep in mind your gearing!.....(12/40) gearing will get you out of the whole but will kill you on top!

I installed the GYTR needles with 160/165 mains and it runs perfect. That is what you need for your fix.
