real controversy

I had both Chevy and Ford. The Chevy was a '00, extended cab Z71, it was real comfortable for me in the drivers seat, but the kids were always fighting in the back seat. Wasn't large enough and the towing capacity is to low. The transmission was always clunking and slippingChevy could never figure out what was wrong with it, Go figure.
Now I have a '01 Ford F250,4x4,crewcab,7.3 and love it. Has all the power and towing capacity I need, kids know if they fight because of the "no more room or quit touching me syndrome" I will pull over and take care of business

Chevy trucks are just too small. I can only tell they are 4WD by the sticker on the bed. The Allison is no doubt the tranny to have, but the torque converter is the weak point on the Duramax. The Ford is probably the best built truck overall. The Dodge has got the Cummins & the V-10 & great looks. So does Ford (even though the Superdutys are a Dodge ripoff) The new Hemi is overrated. The transmission is typical soft Dodge. It really makes the Hemi seem weaker than it is. I'm waiting to see the 6.1L Hemi.
BTW, anyone see the new 2500 Dodge Powerwagon? Hemi, 33's tires & winch off the showroom floor.
The new F150 has got the best interior I've ever seen on a truck.
The Nissan seems nice. But driving a Japanese truck seems unmanly. Kinda like the Duracrap motor. Nice motor but IH & Cummins are so American in that trucker toughguy style.
Myself I've got a 2000 Dodge with the off-road pkg. The only off road pkg from the big three that amounted to anything.
Next truck with any luck will be a diesel. The milage & power potential are unrivaled.

I Git R Done with my 1987 yellow 4wd toyota pickup, I got a supercharged 350 stroker with a turbo 350 tranny slapped in it. took me a weekend to do the whole thing, it is a beast. after I slapped some 40 inch tires on it I felt i needed some more power. its already gone through 6 rear ends. Ive drag raced camaros, firebirds, chevelles, big block chevys, big block fords, none of them can touch any of my 750 horse power. Ill have pictures of it whenever i decide to get my butt in gear to buy a digital camra

Chevy= Shivers on the road and lays in the garage.
GMC= Got a mechanic Coming?
Ford= Fastest on race day
Sorry had to say it.
I am not a brand loyal guy as some of you are. I have owned most of the brands out there. They are all good and they are all bad. Most of it depends on maintenance though, and sometimes you just get a lemon. My company just sold 3 95 F-350s with the 7.3 powerwstroke. The trucks ranged from 200,340 miles to 281,000 miles. They all had only minor problems and had the original powertrains. And yes these trucks were used as haulers. We travel all over the US hauling our equipment for demonstrations. Typical load is around 12,000lbs. Cant wait til I pickup my new truck week after next. 04 F-350 crewcab dually, FX4 package, with the 6.0 diesel and auto tranny. My boss got his on Friday and said it is frikin awesome powerwise compared to our old trucks.
