The whole thing about getting a computer chip in it for the motor that would give sooo much more power than the other. Dodge has a long lasting motor from what people I know say. Ford is a good, reliable truck that keeps on going. We have one chev and all the rest of our...6 trucks are fords. On our farm, we run them to hell and the only thing that really lasts are the fords. (Excluding the one dodge ram that we use to nail cows with...my friend calls it the tin can because the box sides rattle down the road. The only good thing about that truck is that it smokes so hard that you'll never have to worry about west nile virus. Short story long- truck is a truck. If it hauls @$$, it'l work..lol

my father owns a landscaping company and just bought a 1 ton dually crewcab ford and gmc truck. We placed a fifth wheel trailer carring a large ag-tractor and tested both on about a 100 mile strech of interstate with a 7% climb in the middle. The duramax out pulled the powerstoke by about 5 mph average and got 1 mile per gallon better. I dont think the duramax is stronger but has a better tranny due to the allison. The duramax has a engine braking feature that made the truck really shine above the powerstroke. Comming back down the grade the duramax would hold speed where we had to ride the brakes pretty heavy on the ford. we had a gross vehicle weight of about 30,000 pounds. Yes, i know the legal weight is 26000 but we really wanted to worrk them hard. I think this is a fair comparrison due to the fact he owned both so it wasn't bias. i know after this i will be buying a duramax for myself!

I wonder why Chevy went with the Izusu Duramax when Izusu makes better inline 6's which is a superior design?
I hear the "Duracrax" won't hold up to high boost pressures though? I like Chevys but they are so small.
The chip upgrade is impressive, but real power still lies in the Cummins. They dominate diesel truck pulls. Not with the Dodge AUTO though! Manuals only.
