Default one tooth down

Anyone know how much top speed one might lose by dropping the front sprocket on an 01 Warrior?

I wanted to hear from somone who has actually done it, or ridden one that had one on. I'm thinking about doing it since I'm mostly in the woods and tight trails. I almost never need 5th and 6th grears as it is.

I did. And rode like that for the longest time. But I always used 6th gear and 5th gear pretty much everytime I would ride, but not for long most of the time. And It sucked! With the 12tooth I would always have to switch between 2nd and third becuz 2nd would be to small and 3rd would be too big. The stock 13 tooth is so much better because you can stay in 2nd gear for most of the time and it will never bog down on hills and its perfect for tight complicated trails which is all that I ride on most of the time. I am never going back to 12. I lsot alot on top end and it just sucked. I may even go up to 14 and see if I like it. Because I hear the Warrior is geared low stock.

I heard that a stock warrior can't even top out in 6th. But with the mods you have you must be able to top out heh.

Why couldn't it top out? That makes no sense.

My 01 Warrior was clocked at 58mph in 6th: I was on a slight upgrade on hardpack and it was about 75 degrees out. And I'm a big guy too. I'm sure on certain days with a lighter rider it would go over 60mph.

I've seen totally stock Warriors do 55mph so I don't know what you mean by they can't top out.

I read on these forums that the Warrior doesn't have enough power to pull 6th gear so it doesn't get to it's full speed.

Basicly everytime I ride I top out my quad atleast twice or more. Where I ride at most of the time, You cross railroad tracks, then ride along them for like 2 or 3 miles. Straight along the tracks, So I always top out my quad. And it gets pretty bad when You have a friend on a Raptor waiting along time for you at the crossing. Now He doesn't have to wait long at all with my 13 tooth. And I like it better for trails and hillclimbs (which is basicly all I do when I ride) Because for hillclimbs 3rd would be too big and it would bog at the top. And in 2nd it would just SCREAM all the way to the top on the big long steep ones my buddies and I do. Now, If I go up in 2nd, it doesn't scream, it accelerates, and gets me up the hill even faster.

Just something to think about if you ride like in the same conditions I do.
