putting the slip-on on and not jetting it is.. like putting brand new tires on a car and not balancing them.. it doesnt make sense the point of a differnt pipe is to get more gas in and then out. u need to rejet.. then try.

i was riding all weekend at a track that was nothing but dust, after i went home with my tail between my legs after loosing to that P.O.S. pred, i looked at my air filter, it was so caked up with dirt. i cleaned it and it rips once again, however, ill have to wait till tomarrow to race him again. i am going to try to jet it myslef tomarrow also, however i dont have a clue how to adjust the needles and w/e else u have to do. all i ever did was put in a main jet on a blaster before, i never adjusted anything. so if anyone has any pointers, please help. thanks everyone

adjusting your needles on a raptor are the easiest thing to do. after you take your gas tank off... take off the black covers on top of the carbs off and the needles will pull right out....... but i dont think you will have to mess with your needles with just a pipe. I put on a R4 slip on, and all i had to do was put in 160 and 165 main jets, turn the air screws out to 3 turns from seated, and it sure hauls like a ***** now. If i were you I would start buy getting a 160, 165, and a 155 size main jets...... if you want to get more bang out of it, i would suggest taking off your air box lid all together. You will have to clean your air filter more often, but just get a K&N air filter with an outerware and it helps. but yea..... start with those 3 jets and turn ur screws out to 3 turns, and just play around with it until you get the best performance out of it...... if you leave the air box lid on, you may want to run 155, and 160 jets

Well, if you beat him before your mods and lost now, either he has done things to his quad also and hasn't told you or you didn't do your mods correctly. If this MX racing and not strait line drags then maybe he has just been practicing more than you. Predators are nice quads and have a place in the ATv world, loseing to one is not shameful even tho I haven't lost to one yet from stock to my current mods, but then again I don't race mx and would probably be beat by someone on a Blaster in that arena.

Stock for Stock you won and now that you piped it and went down a tooth in accel you should destroy it in accel but you say that he beats you in accel. Rejet it and then you should be able to tear him up. My Buddy and I are very close and were both Stock and I got a little more Top End but I know that if I just put a slip on I would walk all over him until he does the same
