Go with a Raptor and be happy.
Either way, you'll be happy. But my choice would be Banshee.

things to consider, both are great quads. when it comes down to it both are capable of anything. this is a matter of opinion. i can't bash either one. my opinion for south east mo. i pick a raptor. i have owned a shee and didn't care for the mantenance issues. however that power band is equal to the after burner of a jet fighter pilot hitting mach 2. that's the only thing i miss about them. but my raptor brings a smile on my face that's pretty much equal to the shee in other ways. mantenance issues, suspension, front end not wanting to stay down, i like that in a bike,, the shee has a heavier front end. when i say theses things im talking about stock form issues.
once you get your wallet out and start pumping money into the shee it kicks everything on earths gas. then you can't keep their front end down and it is a power house built for speed.
in my opinion both are great bikes for after market parts and speed. but you can get more speed out of a shee .
it's like comparing top fuel funny cars to rail dragsters, both are fast as well,,,,,the rails are faster and have been at it a little longer

a roptor is more like a easy going quad you dont really half to work when you are riding and when it jumps its not as nice as landing as the banshee and banshee is a lot more fun becuse you half to work when riding not just turn the handal bars. dirt wheels had a comp between raptor and the banshee just a little bit ago they said the banshee was a good jumping quad and it is still the king and that the raptor was a easy going quad

it still has the old screw on lid design, when changing the air filter
Raptors are smooth, easy to ride, tooling fun machines
banshees are fast paced, harder to ride, easy to mod machines
I can wheelie from 2nd to 5th no prob so Idk about being hard to wheelie accept balanceing is harder due to the fact that they have much more upper midrange and top end power than a raptor. I ride woods all the time and I have no problem. I may have to get off it to turn it around once or twice a month and I ride all the time so I really dont need reverse. Mixing gas can be a pain cause you cant just pull up and fill up, raptor wins there. electric start is a waist of money for everyone over 8 years old, banshees start right up easily. banshees ride a little harsher than raptors but are much less tippy and easy to powerslide. Ive seen many banshes pulling off doughnuts on bare pavement, something that would flip a raptor over immediatly rappys are much higher centered.
base line is if you go out to hit er hard and ride like hell through woods, open ground, and down roads than get a banshee they are for people who dont mind breaking a sweat riding.
If you go out to cruse and tool around looking at the leaves on the trees and relaxing but wanna go fast every once in a while. go with the raptor.
but watch out for those "old school" screw in air box lids... lol
