Yeah, dec. 31, 2005 is the official cutoff date for banshees, but I wonder if their last year is going to be 2005 (which is to be released this summer, or possibly has already been released, I havent been to my dealer in a while) or if they will produce a 2006 model, and if so, what might they change on it? At the very least of course there will be a new color scheme, but I wonder if yamaha hears about all us die-hard shee fans and wants to give us anything that we've been asking for in a last year model?

There is a clause in the ... whatever they call it.... about the ban, that allows continued production of 2 stroke motors under 50ccs, so there will still be 50cc scooters and atvs allowed.

same here... well the warrior built a name for itself.. and most ppl know what it is... raptor 350 just sounds like ANOTHER knock off of the popular Raptor 660R
I think yamaha's naming department is a little short-staffed recently, they are totally overusing the raptor name and even design. Raptor 660 (fine) raptor 350, raptor 80, raptor 50, come on people! At least the 350's plastic isnt EXACTLY the same as the 660's.

i mean what is the matter with 2 strokes they have allways ruled the dunes and so many peole go to the dunes so most of them will by a 2 stroke idk what they are doing but i bet they will lose a lot of money in this prosses becuse people will start buying 2 strokes used. and do you guys think that the cost for used banshee will go up after the 2 strokes are off the markets?????????

Of course they will lose a lot of money, they know that, but its not up to the manufacturer, it wasnt their idea. Its the enviro-pukes who get all fired up about cutting emissions to save the o-zone and crap like that. I see your point environmentalists, but two-stroke atvs and motorcycles hardly make a difference when it comes to the emissions problems. Yeah they smoke a lot and arent the most emissions friendly types of motors, but we're a small group and thats why they want to pick on us, we're easy. If they wanted to actually make a difference they would go after cars and trucks and big industries. My car doesnt put out the same amount of smoke and harmful gasses as my banshee, but I drive my car a lot more than i ride, so if you look at how much of a difference they both make, I'm sure my car is worse. Besides, there are 50 cars for every 2-stroke atv or dirtbike, but they still think that my banshee is a problem. Whatever, they can stop them from making more, but they cant stop me from riding! Its all just for the environmentalists to feel better about themselves and think that they're making a difference. I say we're all gonna die anyway, so why not let us ride? Whatever we screw up today, I'm sure nature has its own way of taking care of it.

Banshees may die now, but they will live forever.
