Does anyone you ride with have a truck or trailer ?? Maybe they wold haul it for you if you pay them a little something.

Welding isn't hard. But make sure you do a couple practice things like welding some angle together. It's not hard, but making a good solid weld that looks good is a little difficult. I'm 13 and I can weld pretty good already.

 

what a waste i just pulled off the plastic/gas tank and the part thats cracked just unbolts off...wtf

Mig is the way to go. I weld for a living. Just make sure the area is clean (wire brush) and dont spend to much time in one spot or you will burn through. A few practice runs wont hurt either. Good luck!

I would buy that welder, you have to learn at some point. Never do it and you'll never know.

 

Welding is hard. If you dont think so, talk to the guys that weld your buildings and other structures. How about the ones working on pipelines or nuke plants that have to have every inch of the welds x-rayed to make sure they are perfect. You can weld something pretty easily, its making sure it stays together thats the issue.

You are lucky the part can be replaced, your wallet and family probably are too. You could have had the engine bust loose when you were riding it and who knows what would have happened.

As a side note, always remember to unhook the battery and cdi when welding, or you'll be buying a new box.
