that was a good race, the 686 held up great, it was still to rich on the bottom and going up another 1000 feet in elevation didnt help. would have placed higher but the starter is starting to have problems, didnt happen untill the day before the race, it just spins and wont engauge the motor. it will catch after a few tries. well on the first lap there is a real tight section of trail and with the combo of a stage 2 cam and poor jetting i stalled out and when I tried to start it nothing happened I figured the starter had gone completley out since it alredy had problems earlier. so I pushed it into the shade of the cliff and waited for it to cool off and thought i might try it again, so about 10 min had gone by while i waited along with 6 other riders. it still didnt start so i thought if i hit on the starter while starting it might work and catch. well when I pulled off the seat I found the starter cable had vibrated loose and was not connected, so I put it back in place and threw all my gear back on and took off, had to ride like hell to try and catch back up, by the end off the second lap I passed 4 of the 6 back up and the last one I passed in the last 50 yards of the race, glad I had a 686 or I might not have been able to pass him since he was trying to edge me off the trail!!!

it pulls incredibly hard, so hole shots are easy. I welded up the end cap on the exhaust, you gave me so much air flow that evan with 2 3/16 rivets it still pounded the f$%#&n thing out and i was lucky it was barley holding on at the end of the race. I took it to work yesterday and had my weld shop tig a bead all the way around it, then i smoothed it to the can, turned out really good. I'm still gonna put 4 3/16 rivets in it to hold the inner exhaust chambers in place, I had already welded a brace between them to help keep them in place, but since the 12:1 combined with your port work gives ehxaust pulses that knock the sh$t out of the Alien DMC, I better give it some extra help before I launch something out and kill someone!!!
