I wanna see wat the Yamaha guys have to say.


I am probably gonna step up a bit and buy this 1986 TRX250R.

My Questions
Do they kick over easily?
1986--Is this a good year?
I will be mainly trail riding--Should I have much problems? I know its 2 stroke, but will I ahve to be feathering the clutch alot? Someone told me if I could take a Warrior around, I could take a 250R.
Handle good even in stock form?(Anything will be better then my Warrior)
The guy says it may need a arm bushings, hard to install?
Are they reliable?
How often will I be looking at a new top end?

Anything else you think may help me out, Let me know. He says he may give me a deal on some holeshots or so.

It would be very good to find out if he is still running stock bore, and when, if ever, he has refreshed or rebuilt the top end.

 

they are junk!slow,unreliable,no aftermarket for them,and they are hondas! i would buy a lt 185 ,now they rock (get an 85). .................ps you will love it! good luck with the dinosaor! spel. im out[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

Looks like a very clean machine.

 

that doesnt look like a trail bike to me. Im thinking MX with that beast

 

The mx powerband would be good for trail riding, but the suspension may be a bit rough. I would imagine there is at least a little adjustment availible in the shocks to lessen that problem.

 

Looks like a pretty nice ride . Buy it if you dont like it sell it on EbAY ask 4000 for it . You never know! then buy a YFZ450
