Default Heat build up on Grizzlies??? Solution?

I have a Grizzly 660, 2003. I've already had an update to the ATV from a recall, in which Yamaha installed an exhaust kit and several other parts. Question, is there anything else I can do to minimize heat build up, and help disperse the heat? for example, an extra fan to move the warm air out and away from the engine, engine area?

A little Engine Ice or Water Wetter or similar product would help out and reduce temps a bit. Perhaps making sure the radiator is clean and somehow opening up the area in front of the radiatior could help too. My experience is with an 01 grizz so I'm not sure the latter is possible.

Have you modded the side engine panels? I heard that helps alot.

I believe thats what he was referring to with the "recall updates" he mentioned.

Yes, they've replaced the solid panel with a vented panel on both sides. Were can I get Engine Ice or Water Wetter? Do you add both to water/radiator?

Get that Highlifter heat wrap and go over the header pipe with it. I wrapped mine all the way past the carb. No heat problems.

Andy-

Where can I get Highlifter heat wrap? and how do you put it on? Do you just wrap tightly around the header pipe back to the muffler? and past the carberator?

yeah, pretty much. It comes with little clamps to hold it in place. If you could find that fiberglass wrap stuff (someplace else would be cheaper), you could use hose clamps or something probably. I just bit the bullet and dropped the $40 myself. But it was a worthwhile thing though. I'm not pulling your leg on that one.

You can normally find Redline's Water Wetter at Pep Boys. Make sure to thoroughly flush the system muliple times w/ distilled water. Also sending your headpipe out to Jet-Hot to have it ceramic coated will cut your temps from that in half.
