Default losing power on Griz

Lately it seems that I have been losing power on my Griz. Last night I was riding on the MX track and really noticed it had less power going up the hill. Except for the air filter, it is bone stock. It isn't sputtering or back firing, it just feels like the power is missing. Could it be that my valves need to be adjusted. I have about 700 miles on it and still haven't had the valves checked for adjustment. What normally happens when your valves are out of tolerance?

This could be a valve problem. If your exhaust valves tightens up too much it can burn your valve seats, then it is off for a valve job on your new machine. If your exhaust has too wide a gap it will act as a restricter. If your intake valve tightens, again valve job and in extream cases intake problems. If intake has too wide of gap the carb won't deliver enough fuel to the piston.
