Default banshee engine ?'s

hey my son is 14 hes 160lbs 5'11" he asked me the other day for a quad i told him i would look around then he asked me for a banshee and i researched them and i understand thats they are 2 strokes but if i get him a quad it is going to be all his he has to buy everything he wants to do with it and can get a lil help from me but because its a 2stroke i was wondering if he is going to have to tear down the engine every year or can he just leave it alone and if he does leave it alone will it mess with the performance???

hell regret a warrior once he tries the banshee my sons rides my banshee and he use to drive an ATC 125 semi automatic. He learned himself but slowly plus he wont be able to ride with u with a warrior. If u take care of the banshee and run a good synthetic oil ull rarely have to rebuil it unless u buy a messed up one.ive had mine for a year and a half no problems at all now were going for our second one

Banshee's are real fast little suckers, but like anything, If you take care of it..It will take care of you.
Watch out before you buy a 2-stroke tho, because some areas are banning them..just a thought.

If it stock or lightly modded it wont need rebuilds all that often. When it does though its alot easier than rebuilding a 4 stroke.

Where abouts in NY are you? I am in New Hartford, NY and would be more than willing to let you check out my banshee before you take the plunge.

The banshee can be as reliable as any other quad on the market. They are very fast remember...It does require fuel mixing and general lubing of all moving parts.

As a point of reference for your engine rebuild concerns. We ride pretty hard when we get the chance to go. My banshee was bought brand new in 1997...I just did my second top end the beginning of this summer. I think that is a pretty accurate rate for rebuilds unless you are a total animal on 4 wheels. or race every weekend. A banshee top end costs around $200 including a bore job and new pistons.

Not the best quad for trails...but it can be done (I do it). It is a handful on the track until you get used to the way the power is delivered.
