the 686 kit could provide me upward of 60 hp for the low, low price of around $3500 (including all labor, etc...)

1.) hella hard to get the bike into the chassis
2.) off the start your wheels will be spinning so much u wont go anywhere
3.) who wants to go over 150mph on a quad and kill yourself
4.) i doubt the chassis will be able to handle that much power
just my opinion...i wouldnt do it
1: NO its not hard to get a motor in there.
2: Yes the wheels spin, but look at the roost. And you are still hauling ***.
3: Gear it right and just hit 110, duh
4: Build it right and it will.
5: I have $200. in my Raptor doing the motor swap. With another $500. it will be pretty close to being dialed in, to launch hard.
Those are my experince's not opinions.

on craycrafts site....its like 1600 for the signature 686 kit
on other sites....you can pick up a kit for 500
is there something special about the kits which justify the difference in price?
does 1 kit include more parts or something?
what is necessary for a 686 build ?

SHhh! your going to make them depressed. They cant help it they have been handicapped by strokes.
It always comes out costing more than you think though. I figured I could build my latest motor for about 250 bucks, that sure as heck didnt happen.

i have no problem dropping the bills for a quality product that will last and perform. just checking my options, cause I hate to regret any decision I make and wish I had done something different.
the $3500 for 686 kit includes a few other items ...but the point is....thats a lot of money for 10-15 hp and was wondering what other options existed....also about the life expectancy of the kit?
plus I am not used to paying retail prices....all my parts on my atv have been purchased with a 20% discount minimum..
so if that $3500 quote turned into $2700....It would already be in the shop getting worked on....I don't like paying retail unless, I have no other oiptions....and in America....there is always options

LOL @ all the guys whining about nitrous! The only people who think it's cheating are the ones who don't have it, and they're just pissed because you can smoke them.
The old phrase, "Run what ya brung," is rarely more appropriate than when discussing nitrous.
Whining about losing for whatever reason is about as ghey as two guys humping.

a turbo, or big motor. Yes you have to buy both, yes you have to put them on there. With the motor, and the nitrous, if you can hide them, you dont have to let the other guy know. All add hp at a price. Whats cheating? Saying nitrous is cheating is like the guy who told
me a race we had run wasnt fair because it was uphill...

I built my 686 for only $1099.00 that is every thing, full exhaust system (Alien DMC), jet kit, degree key, K&N with outer wear, new intake vales, 3 angle valve job, port and polish, valvesprings, stage two cam, piston, gaskets, and all machine work. A bone stock raptor to a 686 with all the fixins for under $1100.00 is very cheap, you do all the assembly and that's what you can get it for if you look around, the port and polish will cost you more than it did me, but I got a deal from a friend. However any high performance engine has a little less of a life span due to working in an extreme, but that's the nature of the beast!
