What to buy....LT250r? 250r? Blaster? Banshee?
#1
Well, my 300EX is going to be sold for sure.
But what to buy..
Well, i decided only 2 strokes for me. I wanted the Scrambler..but just out of my range. If i got one..no mods for awhile.
Well, i'm just stuck on what to buy.
By the time i'm ready to buy i was have about 3,500.
I'm thinking either..used blaster with a 240 kit. LT250R(around 2,000 rest in mods) Used 250r(3,000 with only 500 for mods =() or banshee, same thing as the honda 250r.
What would be the best bang for the buck?
I want something i can pull a lot of lowend mid range out of for trails, and nice handling for jumps, and fast hill climbs..wheelies..
what do you guys think?

If you want low end power go for the lt 250r. in atv- action they just had a test between the lt250r, trx250r, and tecate 4, they say that the suzuki gets the jump off the line. You can also probably find one the least used in best cond. for the cheapest and be able to put about 1500 into it makin it real quick for whatever set up you need it for with 1500 you can put some great suspension and do whatever motor mods u want to it. make a wise choice and look around maybe youll find a 250r in real good cond or a banshee the blaster bored out might not be that reliable but you could probably get a 99 or 00 with that much money

Well guess what.U guys say LT250R's are way faster than TRX250r's.wrong.Stock for stock they where but put pipe, silencer, carb, reeds, filter, port em and the LT's are WAY faster than the trx!!!!!I sa go for the trx though.More reliable.(in some insatnces)And from reading all the post about your qauds probs I say reliability is a must!!
A freind of mine has a killer lt250r here is what all is done to it.
86 LT250R=wiseco .040 piston, ram valve,FMF gold series pipe, power core silencer, gusseted stock frame, frame power coated dark blue, black maier race cut fenders, black maier lo pro rear fenders, renthal bars, motion pro twist throttle,PEp easy pull clutch perch and lever.
The guy is slowly building it up.I just saw it with the black fenders the other day and it is sweet.

Well, my opinion will be different here. And of course It all depends on how you want to ride, and how much you're willing to change your riding style. Going from a 4 to a 2 stroke will take change anyway. So here's my opinion.
Between the 250rs and the Banshee, you're not gonna find many that haven't been ridden hard or raced. The last Suzuki was made in 91 or 92. The last TRX in 89. Banshees are still being made. You can buy a much newer Banshee for what you'd spend on a used 89 model TRX. I paid 3200 for my 96 banshee. It has a 2 into 1 pipe, and other goodies, but the performance is basically stock now except the pipe. Granted it doesn't have tremendous low end, but if you'r gonna be riding in slow trails, you're gonna have to keep any 2 stroke revved some anyway. Mine does pretty good in slow trails.
So, my suggestion is the banshee. Why? It's the best bang for the buck. You get one newer, with more power than the 250rs.
If you're buying used, the two things you want the most are(in my opinion): one that's NOT been raced, and the newest model you can afford. The newer the quad, the less time it's had to be abused. So, that's what I say, a Banshee. And take it from someone who didn't know nothing about riding a two stroke until I climbed on mine; you'll be addicted to the hit when it gets in the power band.
Hope this helps,
Jason

Thanks for the help.
One thing that turns me away from the Banshee is everything comes in twos..When trying to build it up.
Motordude0616. do you have anything to support that or is it just your honda biased opinion?
I don't know. I think that when i get the cash together. I'll just start looking.
I'm not really changing my riding style by going from a 4 to a 2. I love 2 strokes. I'm kicking myself for buying a pokey 300ex(yeah i know they can be built up..but i'd need 2,000..suspension, and motor)
