Adjusting Parking Brake
#1
Hey I was just wondering if anyone knows how do adjust the parking brake on the Raptor 350 or the Warrior I guess would work too. I don't have an owners manual. I heard on another post that you have to tighten up a bolt or somthing. The parking brake is really bad. I had it on and I was pushing it around and I didn't even know it was on!
Thanks

To adjust it, you need only screw in the bolt which sticks out horizontally from the rear caliper.... However, these guys are right. The parking brake on the banshee/warrior/raptor660/raptor350 do not work. They will constantly need readjusting and will finally fail completely beyond adjustment. The best thing you can do is take it off. It's a standard quad, just leave it in gear in lue of a brake. But the decision is yours.

You do have to adjust these pretty often, but if you want to keep it on there it only takes two seconds to adjust. As Hounddog said you do have to tighten the bolt that sticks out from the rear caliper, but to do so you have to losen the nut first so the bolt will screw in. Once the nut is lose, turn the bolt in with your hand until it stops, then tighten the nut again and it should be okay.

Generally, you will end up wearing your brakes out quicker. When you use the manual cable to pull the brake caliper, it doesn't quite release all the pressure especially when the cable gets full of crud. You don't realize it because it isn't much of a drag but it is certainly enough to put pressure on the pads against the brake rotor. Thus, your brakes wear out quicker. Even if you don't won't to remove the e-brake, never use it!!!

Everyone has given you good advice. The design of the yamaha e-brake is old and flawed. It is a common practice to purchase a yamaha,,,and immediately remove the e-brake system.
If you do keep it in adjustment (every ride) the rear brakes will likely drag and wear the pads out quickly. Usually removing the e-brake improves brake pad performance.
The seat makes a pretty good wheel chauk if it starts to roll
dont forget to leave it in neutral when trailering
