As many know, my YFZ engine already grenaded once earlier this spring. Well, not even 2 months later, it lets loose again. Even with religious oil changes (every 5-10 hours, not joking) the engine broke a valve, ruined the piston, and the dealer said the cams were already starting to groove out the casting in their holders. NOT COOL! I want Yamaha to completely replace that engine, but I don't know if that will happen. Getting really upset that this machine is not staying reliable for me! Is it the oil, or does this engine have lubrication problems getting it to the top-end? All the engine has is exhaust, and it is jetted perfectly. I have not done the cam mod. Am I the only one having these type of engine issues?

 

i use yamalube but no engine probs

 

if the dealer isnt helping, I would contact the head office for yamaha

I used yamalube in my blaster and never had any trouble.

 

That's not an oil quality problem. Maybe an oil Quantity issue........

 

Yamalube is the way to go! A good reason is; did you ever see a Raptor tranny brake that was running Yamalube? NOPE! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Pudl's got a great dealer. Yamaha would've saved a chunk of change if they'd replaced the bullet (engine) before. Smells like a upper end starvation. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

 

Hey Jarrod Contact your State attorney generals office and find out if your state has a Lemon Law . You may be entitled to a new machine under state law .
