Trust me, John Deere machinery does has their fare share of problems, but at least they take care of it. Even after warranty is over, if something BIG happens it is going to be covered. Thats why they keep their costomers.

Pudl.....don't give up!

Heck no, Deere just might have the best customer support I've ever seen. Ever see any other dealer drive to someones house on a week-end night around 10pm to help a guy out? Deere does.

All the implement dealers do that. When you buy a $200K+ combine they should include a free pass to the local brothel!

Not all, At least before. That is some of the reason IH went under. Poor customer service. While John Deeres products aren't always the best, they take care of the customer.

Don't worry about farmer Brown paying 200K for a combine, WE pay for it. In 2000 the government subsidies (welfare) for farmers was more than regular welfare!!! My grandparents were farmers. I've seen this money.

check out
farm welfare

just click the subsudies link & then sort by state, name, county etc. Very interesting....

Oh, I know what you're saying. My Grandma has a 360 acre farm south of Centerville so I see it firsthand, and I work at John Deere Admin HQ in Moline so I see the research done on farm subsidies.

how to you like your job at Deere?

I just get tired of all these "broke" farmers that vacation in FL every year.

No kidding, the government subsidies don't help that much. We farm almost 2000 acres, and we know first hand too. We have a 200k combine, 3 100 k tractors, and a 80k planter. With seed about $120 per bag, and corn at a $1.80.....it just don't add up. When you fellas are buying groceries, or whatever, notice how expensive it is.......and the farmer is still going broke.....someone is making the money somewhere. I guess that is why they say the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer. My dad even told me, before I graduated not to come back to this farm, he said there isn't a future, or money here. I went into mechanical engineering last year, and I am still helping him on the farm too.

All I know is when I lost my job due to a poor economy the government didn't subsidise me. They did my grandfather however....

I see alot of worthless farmers staying in business because the government pays their bills even though they can't make ends meet on their own. Sounds mean to say but that's business. Buy or be bought.

I saw all the kids from big farm families always have it all & still have it all. Never had a worry their whole life. I'll hardly ever feel sorry for a farmer.

Ever wonder why there is only about a 10 cent difference between a med & extra large Pepsi at say McDonalds? Because the corn is subsidized so bad that a farmer can farm a crap feild still make out like crazy, sell it to Pepsi keep who in turn keeps making bigger & bigger drinks because there is no way we can ever go backwards & pay 35 cents for a regular sized drink again. So we just makes the drinks bigger & bigger. These farmers need "weened" of welfare. In fact the guy I help farm is leaving on another vacation this week. Maybe the government will pay for my new truck & vacation too?

BTW, what planter costs 80K???? Usually no tills are about $1000+ per foot.

Uh, can we maybe steer this tractor back into the quad discussion barn?

Yamaha should cover the quad....they're obviously choosing not to. I wonder when they'll wake up?
