I am just starting to look for a new ATV for all purpose use. I have been told that the grizzly is a great atv but has some bouncing problems at take-off. Is it a good machine.

I have only had my Grizz for 3 weeks and have noticed a little bouncing. I wanted mine for all purpose use too, so I am willing to give up just a little in handling to get the power and utility you get with a Grizz. My biggest complaint so-far is the noisy transmission (not a big problem when I've got my helmet on).

I own a 2000 Grizz and use it for both play and work, but mostly play, I have had no major complaints, except my headpipe cracking. I think i was cause I was jumping with it. It is the best BEAST I have played on.

You can't go wrong with a Grizzly, they are very powerful and reliable.
I pulled a 1400lbs with my grizzly that included the trailer up a mountain to a camp and the grizz never coughed once, ya she was hot but not overheating.
I play more than i work and have about 2000 miles on my 2000 grizz. Never had a problem yet and powerful i can't believe it. The main thing for me is it is tough and reliable, i don't like putting money in repairs in my machines, i expect them to last 10 years without any major problems, and that is what my 89 Big Bear did, so that is why i stuck to Yamaha. I just wanted faster, auto with a 2 to 4 option with the same reliability and so far i have it.
Hope this helps.

I've owned my Grizzly for about 3 months. I used to own a 99 Kodiak. I love eveything about my Grizzly, the power, suspension, tranny, etc. I can't really say much about durability since I haven't owned it for long. But I've hammered on it pretty hard, and have never had any problem. Before I sold my Kodiak I rolled it down a 100 yd hill, both sideways and end over end, bouncing off several trees as it went. When I caught up with it at the bottom of the hill, I rolled it back up on 4 wheels and hit the starter. It started right up! I bent everything back that I had to so I could drive it back to my truck(about 3 miles), and sold it for $4000 2 days later! After that I wouldn't consider anything but a Yamaha!!
