I have found that, water can enter the storage compartment on the Grizzly through hole in the botom of the box, This has cause water to enter and collect into my box and short my solenoid, I would reccomend filling these holes with silicone before you ruin your solenoid!

Why not silicone, or "pot," the solenoid itself, waterproofing it? You may need some way to drain your storage box sometime.

If you insist on a solenoid, that is. Direct switch wiring works, if the wires are well-insulated and not apt to rub, bind or abrade.

Because if you plug the holes you can put materials that don't react to water well in there

Your quad, man; seal it if you like. I think the Yamaha engineers put a hole in the bottom of the box to drain the water when you clean it; maybe sealed with a flanged rubber plug ordinarily.

I still think the best way to waterproof an in-line winch switch wire solenoid is to eliminate it. The solenoid looks like a solution to a non-existent problem to me, in most cases.

There are many more than one, I may put a drain plug in one hole but I would like it sealed because I want to put papers in there, and maybe even my wallet. If they wanted to be drain able, why did they put holes all over the bottom and not just a few, also, why didn't they put a drain plug into the holes?

I assume that you are talking about the winch soleniod. I mounted mine on top of the storage box so it doesn't matter if there is water in it or not. I'm not sure why you would put it inside the box? If it is for protection from the elements, I've gone through water deep enough to float my Griz. And I have never had any problems with the winch at all.

I mud run my Grizzly, and I have never put the solenoid on the winch. It is not needed and is one more problem you won't have to deal with.

Also, why not keep a couple of large zip-lock bags with you, and put those items in them when you need to keep it dry.
