Carburator Problems...i think
#11
Ya i took the carb apart and made sure that none of the jets were clogged....the float seemed to be working but i didn't measure it (i should have) to see if it moved. I also cleaned it with soapy water and it still has the exact same problem...
I visually inspected the air filter and it looked fine, but I'll take it off and clean it.
The engine is running really hot too so it might be a timing problem as well.
Thanx for the help.

The air filter looked allright with no dirt build up on it. When I took it off though and got it wet, it started falling apart in my hands! I don't think the filter had ever been changed. It also had a big hole in it. I'm definitely getting a new one.
Maybe pieces of the foam were getting into the carb.
The airbox did had a little bit of grass and other junk in it. I used a shop-vac and cleaned it out.
I'll take the carb apart again and do a more thorough job this time of cleaning it. I probly should get all new seals for it too. That mite help...

Sounds like the idle circuit is plugged. Changing the main jets wont help at all. Take out the pilot jet, ...when you get it apart look thru the hole in the middle. Its like looking thru a straw, you should be able to see light thru the hole. If you cant see thru it, then you will need to run a wire thru it, to dislodge the obstuction.
The pilot jet has the smallest passage in the carb, and thats why its always the first to plug up. If it runs on the choke( which is actually a starter jet), but dies when the starter jet is closed....is a classic symptom of a plugged pilot jet.
check out this article on cleaning a carb.

Thanx for the help guys. I really appreciate it.
The problem is solved though; it was because of BAD GAS...lol
I just about kicked myself.....something so simple.
I just hope that was the whole problem.
Thanx again.

The engine is still running really hot and it vibrates alot.
When I put my feet on the pegs while going full out, it feels like my legs are going to rattle off.
Could that be a timing problem or just something off kilter?
