So I picked the thing up.. Runs really good! Very happy for now..

Quick question... The guy who put it all together said that the spark arrester in the Pro Circuit T4 is costing me a little power... Anybody run theres with / without and notice a difference one way or the other? I don't want to remove it if theres not much of a difference.. However if it's major then I would go thru the trouble of swapping it in/out depending where I am riding..

Thanks for the input!

Well, I would only suggest riding without the spark arrester, at the drags, or at the track. No where around grass, or a wooded area, you will be in deep if you catch a forest on fire, or something, especially if someone is hurt/killed in the fire.

I have to hear that everyday from my dad!

Totally understandable! However, I think in some dune areas (Oregon) we aren't required to run them.. I could be mistaken, need to look... However, does it make a difference in the power output?

It does make a difference, but unless its a 2 minute swap, its not worth the effort. Sometimes you need to rejet with the removal of the arrestor. Thats too much work on a raptor for such a small amount of power. You wont feel the difference, but you will hear the noise increase. Kind of a race-only idea.

Okay, sounds to me like it would just make more noise than power.. What do you know about the PC Quiet core? Does it kill the power as well?

The PC quiet core is a joke. It is a spark arrester with a washer welded in it. They sound like ****!!!

Okay! Thanks for keeping me from even beginning to look down that road.. I appreciate it.. I did a search on it and I've seen where other people said the PC quiet core sucks and does sound terrible... Still want to know what kind of power the sparky robs...

Rappy did the dealer do the break in on the cam for you? I dont know how critical it is but Hot Cams tells you to run it for 20 mins (not hard and not at idle ) I forgot the rpm range then let it cool. repeat two more times then change oil readjust valves then let it rip. it has something to do with there coating. good luck and have fun at dunefest, wish i was going.
