Guys, Why fight over who's best? You're not comparing apples to apples. The raptor has low end torque like the banshee will never have. This factor alone makes the raptor better for woods, slower speed trails riding, and long hill climbs. The Banshee is a high revving machine to race. I rode down at Wayne National forest in Nelsonville, OH and the trails there cover a wide skillset for riders. I did happen to notice on my last trip, three banshees stalled in the slow windy trail sections. Then you see them again after quick plug changes...flat gittin' it. Give both the 4 and 2 stroke their due. Neither is everything to everyone.

Yep! That's why I have one of each (4 & 2 stroke). By the way, anybody wanna buy a '95 Warrior for $7000. I need some money for a Raptor. The perfect garage would have a Banshee and a Raptor in it.

In a perfect world the times would vary more than a second over any sets of runs, Also given that the Raptor is NEW, these test riders, whether PRO or what have not ridden one until now. Im not saying they dont know how to ride one Im just going to say If they owned one and had ridden it for a month I'd think the times would be better. Im gonna have to believe that since they were on pavement the Raptor could not be gated as hard because of the amount of Torque would = instant wheelies, and due to the web shaped crank, too low of revvs would cause a sluggish start. Since a banshee stock has a short while that it is at lack of low end torque it may get a jump if the other rider is wheelieing or lugging the big 660. Consider also that No One has mentioned hitting the revv limiter in any gear. This tells me that they are not used to such high RPM on a big engine and find themselves shifting out at lower rpms, though they are hauling @SS already, they may be slacking off in the power by doing so. I cant imagine not winding up this awesome engine. Oh well, if they aint hitting rev limiter Id say to atleast add maybe airfilter and bigger carbs and you should be near it. I still say though that the design of the frame alone is worth more than the difference of $500 between it and the banshee. Its like getting free aftermarket frame geometry. But you get better lighting also, electric start, reverse, good looks, radial tires, long A arms, Better shocks, aluminum galore, fan assisted water cooling, and a powerful thumper motor. I'd have to say $500 never looked like it could pay for that much Extra but it does.

Yamaraptor, you make a good point. People keep talking about performance & handling of the Raptor sight unseen but nobody talks about the extras you mentioned. Aluminum, fan assisted cooling, etc, etc, etc. Those things count for a lot.
