I have a 2001 Yamaha Raptor and when I ride it at full throttle the reverse lights come on and then the atv shuts off for a few seconds and then comes back on...Can anyone help me with this problem??? Thanks!

Thats the first time I've ever heard of that. Possibly the parking brake. Did you try to unhook that?

Could just be your rev limiter kicking in...just my .02.

I am posting this question for a friend of mine and he said that it is not the parking brake or the rev limiter, he said that it just turns off (intermittantly) while riding it at wide open throttle. If you know anything else it could be I would really appreciate it!

cutting off at wide open throttle is also a symptom of not enough fuel flowing to your bowls

It has no problem with the fuel flowing to the bowls. When the atv is going full throttle the reverse light will flash and the atv will cut off for about 2 seconds and then it will come back on, it only does it intermittantly but the atv thinks that it is in reverse and it's not. It has to be some kind of censor, my friend knows everything about the atv except the electrical aspect of it. If you might know of any kind of censor that might be bad or going bad...or something else it could be please let me know...Thanks a lot!
