My new Raptor!!!
#1
Hey everyone, I just picked up my new raptor today, I just drove it around my house on the streets and I love it!!!, amazing indeed, now that I have this baby I have a few questions to ask you guys since I'm pretty much a noob at this.
What is the proper way to shut this thing off? Is it put in nuteral and just hit the kill switch?
On a full tank how many miles/time can you get.
Any things I should know before heading out on the trail for the first time?
What gas does this use, normal 87 octane or do I need higher?
I got this thing, 2004 Raptor 660, used twice with extended warrenty till next July and a one ATV trailer and the right size hitch, for 5000 dollars. This thing was used twice and then the guys friends moved so he didnt have anyone else to drive with, and its the limited addition black, think it was a good deal?
Well if you guys could help me out that would be great.
Thanks,
Mike.

I use 93 oct
I am guessing that I can run 3 hours hard before I need to think about refueling
I changed my oil and filter after 1st tank of gas
I would have the dealer adjust the sag/suspension for your weight(or do it yourself)
I also removed the throttle screw(limiter)

What happened when you took your speed limiter out? Does it run the same? Does it make you go faster or what? I was thinking about doing it but it says in the manual dont have so far out or whatever. Please give me some info

you got a good deal
just hit the kill switch any time, and turn off the key
you can get 50 to 75 miles depending on how you ride
make sure all your bolts are tight
use 90 octane or higher
start saving your money, once you get used to it you are gonna want more power or suspension!!

Welcome to the club... Just remember to be carefull. Also if its that new watch your clutch adjustment for the first few times out, it will usually end up needing adjustment fairly quick. Other then that HAVE FUN!
If you need anything questions or what not don't be afraid to ask someone will help you out, besides we were all newbies once!
By the way it sounds like you got a good deal!
Later,
Mike
