What do u guys think of the VForce!

Im curious as to why you'd get rid of the raptor and go for the z400? To be honest i was thinking of doing the same thing but i need to ride one first. A lot of folks say the z400 is very comparable, but I'd like to find out more to be certain. As far as the yfz, most owners say that they're not all that great for the woods.

When you start modding the YFZ it will be broke down most of the time. The V-force auto tranny would have too be fast in the woods. No chain too throw or adjust either....the V-force does have it's advantages.

Those V's are no joke once they're setup for XC. I wouldn't touch one in stock for, but once you setup the clutch with aftermarket springs and weights, and an aftermarket exhaust they are impressive. I was at a local trail riding park and one of the GNCC regualrs was there w/ one that was all setup with the mods I mentioned and some Ohlins shocks. That thing flat FLEW in the trails. The V definately has its place in the XC world.
But if your not looking to dump alot of money I'll go back to my previous opinion in one of your other threads...... I think that the Z would be the best for you. Of all the sport quads with manual trannies I think its the most comfortable with stock boingers. I love my Pred, but I have to admit that Z has some PLUSH front shocks.
If your going to go aftermarket with the suspension, then I'd go with the YFZ without a second guess! Do that, get the taller seat foam kit, gear it down, and it'd be perfect. To me the only thing that holds the Yfz back as a XC racer is the stiff stock suspension. If your going to make previsions to correct that, then to me its a no-brainer.

lol........gettin too much info here lol.....i posted in the kawai forum also, just expecting to hear all good as i would just expect to here this thing get dissed on by you yami ppl!
Anyway for those that told me its not any better then a heavy pile of garbage nor any diff then throwin a fat b!tch around ROFL! well you prolly never gave them a chance or you never even rode one or have anything wutsoever to base you option on period!
I hear that they are potentially one of the best machines u can buy for GNCC!
like i said before wutever i buy gets stripped the first day i get it and it has to get prepped...
The YFZ's suspension would get redone if i got one all 3with elka, but thats not wut would hold it back from me getting it....its the fact that when i start goin to pull more power out of it, my reliability is goin out the window! I CANT HAVE THAT, and its limited rear swingarm ground clearance, let me tell u! I have bottomed out, almost gotten stuck, with the raptor and the GYTR Swingarm Skid, u have NO clearance wutsoever unlike the VForce!!! It has plenty!
My only other option that is keepin me from goin and gettin the V right away is the 05 Z400, i had the 03, and it was a great great machine, realiable, comfortable and just an all around good machine, it was awsome in the woods...
part of the reason i would want a Z, is because i know wut its all about, its easy as $hit for me to get my parts and mod..It has been nicely upgraged for 2005 which also makes it even more appealing! I hear that they are as fast as stock raptor is unitl u hit 5thgear as the raptor has more top end! I would believe this completely due to the Cam Revisions, supposable Weight Reduction, Clutch plates 8 now to 9, and things that add to the ride quality like better shocks with resavores, nicer shift lever...ect it goes on and on....
Most of which as i get it race ready, i will be changing anyway other then the motor right away! It will basically have ALL Bolt-ons if you think thats just basic exhaust jetting and pro-flow lol ur wrong it needs around 5grand to be XC worthy
Im concerned about the weight of the V, at this point because i would really think that you would get more easily fatigued, which you on a 400 you wouldnt have to work it as hard!
Thanks for the help, and any other comments would be greatly appreciated!

Not to make your desision any harder, but I think the new 05 TLD Predators are worth looking into. They have great power, have a new close ratio tranny, and ZERO bump steer, AND REVERSE !!
now, that sounds like one hell of a GNCC quad to me.
I own a V-force, and I really like it, the the engine performance, they front end feels really light, but the *** end is very heavy(gas tank is in the rear). Great for traction, but if you go through a long whoop section it binds up the rear shock pretty quick. ofcorse a good set of after market shocks might fix that, i dont know.
