They would have to change the engine and not modify the current one, unless they do something that none of the builders can do right now and that is make an extreamly reliable 800cc out of the 660 engine. Hopefully they will go with a V twin moter, and EFI!

I've heard the rumors too, but i think it's just wishfull thinking. The griz isn't the big dog on the block any more and it sounds like someone trying to keep some intrest in the Griz. To keep up with the rest I think they are going to have to design a whole new quad and I don't see that happening right away.

Anyone read the review of the new Kaw Brute force? All the testers said it was too much motor, a 700cc Griz with fuel injection would be plenty enough for me.

I would probably be content with just a manual transmission option on the 660. Its fast enough for me, but seems to lug with bigger tires more than I would like.

I dont see why the 102mm(686) 11:1 raptor piston and a hotcams stage 1 cam wouldnt work. Working with the auto clutching will help also. Check out highlifter.com

Everyone said that the 800 Polaris was just a rumor three months ago and look what they have now. I wouldn't be surprised if yamaha come up with some thing bigger and better than the current grizz.
