Default kodiak help

i am having a problem with my kodiak, i can go about 10 mph but if i accelertate more than that it starts backfiring and "putting". i can push the throttle wide open and it will go about 10 or 15 mph and start backfiring.
i think it has something to do with my carb. but im not sure. its only about 4 months old.
please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.

If you have not modded it than check to make sure the parking brake cut out is not still engaged.

i've had this problem many times with my dads kodiak, just play with the brakes, and it is one of the sensors for the brakes, i think, mine was.

i found out its my air filter. i took it out for like 5 min to check it and the problem stopped.. but when i put it back in and rode it it did it again. its $51 for a replacement air filter ( which wasnt even a brand name) at my yamaha dealership which i thought was outrageous so im gonna clean up mine and check the web for a cheap one
